The 22nd Annual FSF Emerging Forensic Scientist Award paper competition was hosted during the AAFS Virtual Annual Meeting in February. The following presenters were selected as the 2021 winners by a panel of judges:
- Perla Santillan, MS—“Mass Grave Localization Prediction With Geographical Information System in Guatemala and Future Impacts” (A58/Anthropology)
- Ya-Chih Cheng, MS—“The Differentiation of Hemp From Marijuana Using a Qualitative Decision-Point Assay” (B11/Criminalistics)
- Meghan Appley, MS—“Species-Level Forensic Identification of Illegally Traded Endangered Woods Using a Combination of Mass Spectral and Chemometric Techniques” (E24/General)
